Royal Caribbean App Adds Cruise Planning Options as Sailings Near
Travelers can use the app for reservations, purchases and check-in, with availability expanding closer to departure.

Royal Caribbean passengers can use the cruise line’s app before departure to purchase add-ons, reserve certain included offerings and complete online check-in, according to the report. If a reservation does not appear automatically, it can be linked by entering the booking ID along with the passenger’s last name and birth date.
Royal Caribbean adds details to the app as a sailing approaches. Drink packages, WiFi, dining and shore excursions may begin appearing about four to six months before departure, although the report says there is no fixed date for those options to become available. Prices displayed when booking opens may not be the lowest later offered. According to the report, app purchases are refundable except for the Royal Genie service.
Online check-in opens 45 days before sailing. About a month before departure, guests booked on Oasis Class, Icon Class and Quantum Class ships may also be able to reserve entertainment through the app. Other Royal Caribbean ship classes do not offer advance entertainment booking, the report says. Reservations for headliners, comedy performances and Broadway shows are complimentary.
