Royal Beach Club Cozumel remains listed for December 2026 opening
Royal Caribbean CEO Michael Bayley offered no revised timeline while acknowledging pushback and productive discussions over the project.

Royal Beach Club Cozumel remains listed as scheduled to open in December 2026, although Royal Caribbean CEO Michael Bayley did not confirm, reject or update the previously announced date.
Bayley said the company had encountered pushback over its approach to the project but had since participated in productive discussions. He did not provide further details on the potential outcome or timing.
Planned exclusively for Royal Caribbean cruise passengers, the beach club would occupy 42 acres at the southwestern tip of Cozumel, Mexico. Royal Caribbean purchased the former Playa Mia facility and intends to renovate the property for the new operation.
The development is proposed for the site of the existing Playa Mia Grand Beach Park facilities rather than untouched land. Previously announced features included ocean access, pools, swim-up bars, private cabanas and snorkeling, along with local markets, tequila tastings and cooking classes.
