Rockland schedules nine cruise ship calls for fall 2026
The Maine port expects about 13,672 passengers between September 6 and October 22, according to the city.
Rockland’s 2026 fall cruise season is scheduled to open September 6 with the first of four calls by Celebrity Silhouette, the city said in a news release. Altogether, nine ship visits carrying an estimated 13,672 passengers are planned through October 22.
The schedule also features Scenic Eclipse, Star Pride and Seabourn Ovation. Some passengers are expected to join organized excursions to Midcoast destinations, including the Owls Head Transportation Museum, Camden, Mount Battie and the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens.
According to the city, Rockland collects a $10 tariff for every passenger aboard scheduled visiting cruise vessels. The city plans to support the season through PortShare Promise Midcoast, a destination-management initiative launched in 2024 to improve operations on cruise-call days.
Services planned for 2026 include a staffed welcome center at Harbor Park, visitor information in print and digital formats, upgraded restrooms, free WiFi and a part-time seasonal coordinator. Rockland is also among four Maine ports under consideration for potential electrification through the Maine Department of Transportation’s Clean Ports Planning Project. Portland, Eastport and Searsport are the other ports in the study.
