Rockland plans free trolley pilot for two cruise ship calls
Credentialed passengers aboard Celebrity Silhouette and Seabourn Ovation will be eligible for service linking Harbor Park with three Main Street stops.

The City of Rockland, PortShare Promise Midcoast and Oli’s Trolley plan to test free trolley transportation during two upcoming cruise ship visits. The city said the pilot is intended to improve connections between Harbor Park and downtown Rockland.
Service is scheduled for Celebrity Silhouette’s visit on Saturday, October 10, and Seabourn Ovation’s call on Thursday, October 22. Trolleys are expected to depart Harbor Park about every 45 minutes, with access restricted to credentialed passengers from the visiting ships.
The route will include three Main Street stops: The Strand Theatre near Winter Street, The Thorndike Building near Tillson Avenue and Fiore Olive Oils near 497 Main Street. According to the city, the trial will help Rockland and PortShare Promise assess whether trolley service can improve accessibility, manage visitor movement and increase the economic benefit associated with future cruise visits.
