Robert Downey Jr. Named Godparent of Disney Adventure
Disney Cruise Line announced the appointment ahead of the ship’s maiden voyage from Singapore next month.
Robert Downey Jr. has been named godparent of the Disney Adventure, the newest and largest ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet. Disney announced the Academy Award-winning actor’s role before the vessel begins sailing next month from its home port in Singapore.
Disney Adventure will be the first Disney Cruise Line ship to homeport in Asia. It will operate from the Marina Bay Cruise Centre Singapore through a collaboration between Disney Cruise Line and the Singapore Tourism Board.
The ship features seven themed areas spanning Disney storytelling, including several Marvel experiences. At Marvel Landing on the upper decks, Tony Stark’s Ironcycle Test Run is billed as the first roller coaster aboard a Disney Cruise Line ship and the longest attraction of its kind at sea.
Other onboard offerings include character encounters, Broadway-style productions, themed staterooms and concierge accommodations. The vessel also has more than 20 dining and lounge venues serving international and Asian-inspired food and beverages.
Disney Cruise Line currently has seven named ships in its fleet: Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy, Disney Wish, Disney Treasure and Disney Destiny. Six additional ships are planned by late 2030.
