Reported cruise-ship living costs vary widely among residents
Estimates from several people living aboard ranged from $2,721 per month to $100,000 per year.

A report comparing cruise-ship living expenses found substantial differences among residents’ estimates. One woman placed her annual cost at about $39,000, equivalent to $3,250 per month. Another woman reported monthly expenses of $2,721, while a couple estimated that their cruise-ship lifestyle cost $5,100 per month.
Another cruise-ship resident estimated spending between $70,000 and $100,000 annually, or approximately $5,833 to $8,333 per month.
For comparison, the report cited cost-of-living and government data that put estimated average monthly household costs at $11,947 in Hawaii and $9,137 in Massachusetts. It listed Oklahoma’s estimated average household cost at $5,337 per month.
According to the report, Oklahoma’s household estimate exceeded most of the cruise-ship living costs included in the comparison. The sole exception identified was its example involving Mario Salcedo living aboard Royal Caribbean’s Voyager of the Seas, which was more expensive than Oklahoma and other states at the lower-cost end of the list.
