Queen Mary 2 to Add 31 Cabins During 2027 Dry Dock
Cunard’s flagship is scheduled for a six-week renovation that will also update suites, restaurants, kennels and the ship’s planetarium.

Queen Mary 2 is scheduled to enter dry dock on March 31, 2027, before returning to service on May 9, 2027, according to Cunard’s plans for the flagship.
The renovation will add 31 accommodations, including 16 Cunard Princess Grill Suites and 15 Britannia-category staterooms. The new cabins have opened for reservations on sailings departing from May 2027.
Cunard also plans to refresh all existing Grill Suites with redesigned bathrooms and updated interiors. The Queens Grill and Princess Grill restaurants will receive improvements intended to maintain their sense of space, comfort and exclusivity.
The ship’s kennels will be upgraded and expanded to accommodate more pets. A refurbishment of the owners’ lounge will include a larger outdoor walking area for guests and their animals.
Illuminations, Queen Mary 2’s planetarium, is set to receive a substantial digital upgrade designed to provide more immersive experiences beneath its dome. Queen Mary 2 regularly operates transatlantic crossings between New York and Southampton.
