Puerto Rico to host FCCA conference in October 2026
The cruise industry gathering is projected to bring more than 700 delegates and generate 2,300 room nights.
Puerto Rico will host the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association Conference and Convention for the eighth time from Oct. 12 to 16, 2026, at the Puerto Rico Convention Center. The event follows a $1 million investment and is projected to produce a $5 million return.
More than 100 senior cruise line executives are expected to attend alongside over 700 delegates representing 31 countries and 18 cruise lines. The convention is also forecast to account for 2,300 room nights.
Gov. Jenniffer González said Puerto Rico received 1,934,182 cruise passengers at the San Juan and Ponce docks during fiscal 2026. She said that total surpassed the 2019 record by more than 120,000 passengers and generated an estimated economic impact of $255.5 million.
González also said the season beginning in October is forecast to include 541 ship arrivals and approximately 1.3 million passengers through April.
Puerto Rico Tourism Company Executive Director Willianette Robles said officials have been working to restore Carnival as a home-port operator in Puerto Rico. Carnival stopped basing a ship in San Juan in 2020 amid a pandemic-era fleet reorganization and the vessel’s later retirement. FCCA President Adam Ceserano also announced that Puerto Rico will host the association’s Platinum Conference in 2028.
