Pro-Palestinian demonstrators gather during Crown Iris port call in Kalamata
Police kept protesters from the restricted port area while coast guard personnel monitored the demonstration, according to local reports.

Pro-Palestinian demonstrators gathered Tuesday at the port of Kalamata in southern Greece to protest the arrival of the Crown Iris cruise ship.
Participants raised Palestinian flags and called for freedom for Palestine. Greek media reports attributed the organization of the protest to local anti-fascist activists and Rouvikonas. Members of the Messinia Primary Education Teachers’ Association also participated, according to those reports.
Local media reported that the demonstrators marched toward the cruise ship but were prevented by police from approaching the restricted area of the port. Coast guard personnel also monitored the area during the gathering.
The Crown Iris remained within a secured section of the Kalamata port during its scheduled stop.
