PortMiami passes 10 million cruise passenger movements in FY 2026
Miami officials say the milestone restores PortMiami’s position as the world’s busiest cruise home port.

PortMiami surpassed 10 million cruise passenger movements in fiscal 2026, according to Miami officials, returning it to the top position among the world’s cruise home ports. Officials said the port reached the milestone on September 14, about 11.5 months into the fiscal year.
Ports record embarkations and disembarkations separately, so the total equates to roughly 5 million individual passengers. The result was more than 1.4 million movements above PortMiami’s fiscal 2025 record of 8,564,225, an increase of nearly 17%.
PortMiami contributes $61 billion to the local economy annually and supports more than 340,000 jobs. Miami-Dade County officials and Royal Caribbean Group also began work in January on the port’s $345 million Cruise Terminal G, which is scheduled for completion in late 2027.
Separately, Port Canaveral expects to handle 10.9 million cruise passengers in fiscal 2027. Carnival Festivale and MSC World Atlantic are scheduled to arrive there, supporting the projected total. Cruise-related income generates about 87% of Port Canaveral’s operating revenue.
