PortMiami marks 10 millionth cruise passenger

The port reached the milestone on September 14 after exceeding its previous fiscal-year passenger record.

PortMiami announced that it welcomed its 10 millionth cruise passenger on September 14, setting a new annual benchmark with two weeks remaining in its 2026 fiscal year. The fiscal year runs from October 1, 2025, through September 30, 2026.

The port had already surpassed its previous fiscal-year record of 8,564,225 cruise passengers. Icon of the Sea, MSC World America and Carnival Celebration can collectively carry more than 16,000 passengers per sailing at double occupancy. On a 10-ship day, the port can process more than 75,000 passengers embarking and disembarking within 12 hours.

MSC Cruises’ Terminal AA, which opened in 2025, is described as the world’s largest cruise terminal by size. The 492,000-square-foot facility can process as many as 36,000 passengers per day and accommodate three full-sized ships simultaneously.

Construction is also underway on a new Terminal G for Royal Caribbean Group. The facility is being designed to handle large Icon-class ships. PortMiami contributes more than $61 billion annually to the local and state economy and supports more than 340,000 jobs.
