Port of Palm Beach Advances $43 Million Cruise Expansion
The project would enable the port to handle longer ships while adding parking, boarding and security facilities.

The Port of Palm Beach is moving ahead with a $43 million expansion of its cruise facilities as it seeks to attract larger vessels. Port commissioners approved soliciting bids for the improvements on September 24, and the work is expected to take two to three years.
The plans include marine structures that would allow longer cruise ships to be secured beyond the end of the existing dock. This approach is intended to expand the facility’s vessel capacity without requiring construction of another berth.
Other planned upgrades include a 1,100-space parking garage and a passenger boarding bridge designed to serve a broader variety of cruise ships. The port also intends to enlarge the security screening area for cruise passengers.
Margaritaville at Sea Paradise is currently the only cruise ship operating from the port.
