Port of Lisbon sets August cruise records
Passenger volumes and cruise calls reached all-time highs in August 2026, with transit and turnaround activity both increasing.

The Port of Lisbon recorded 86,322 cruise passengers disembarking during the month, a 23 per cent increase from August 2025. Port calls also rose to a record level, climbing 32 per cent compared with the same month a year earlier.
Reported figures for August 2026 show that 12,090 passengers embarked in Lisbon and 12,543 disembarked there. Transit traffic reached a monthly record of 61,689 passengers.
Lisbon handled nine turnaround calls during August, the highest total since 2009, when eight were recorded. Turnaround calls represented 28.5 per cent of monthly passenger traffic, up from 16.2 per cent in August 2025.
The results marked the port’s strongest month on record for overall cruise activity, including new highs for both transit and turnaround passenger numbers.
