Port of Almería awards contract for dedicated cruise terminal
The two-floor facility is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2027, according to the Almería Port Authority.

The Almería Port Authority has awarded construction work for an exclusive cruise terminal in the southwest section of the port’s Maritime Station. Authority president Rosario Soto said the independent facility is expected to be completed during the first quarter of 2027.
Transformaciones y Embalses Parra received the €689,899.89 contract, including VAT. The work has a four-month execution period beginning with the site layout act. The project will cover more than 422 square meters, including areas for cruise passengers and renovated facilities for state security forces.
The two-floor terminal is designed to provide cruise guests with direct access from ships to a facility separate from other passenger operations. Plans include an adapted panoramic elevator, private access and access control on the lower level. The upper level, reached by a public staircase or the elevator, will contain a waiting room with charging points and internet access, along with a tourist information point for passengers heading toward the city center.
The authority has also invested nearly €2.8 million in a fixed gangway and passenger boarding bridge connecting ferries and cruise ships with the Maritime Station. It reported that cruise calls at Almería increased 40% in the previous year.
