Port Canaveral projects cruise growth in fiscal 2027

The port expects passenger movements, homeported ships and operating revenue to increase as cruise activity expands.

Port Canaveral expects to handle 10.9 million passenger movements and host 23 homeported ships during its 2027 fiscal year, which begins Oct. 1. That would represent an increase from 9 million passenger movements and 20 homeported vessels in the current fiscal year.

The port projects that cruise industry growth and additional ship calls will help lift operating revenue by $44.4 million, bringing the fiscal 2027 total to an estimated $281.8 million.

Royal Caribbean’s Star of the Seas arrived at Port Canaveral on Aug. 9. The vessel, Royal Caribbean’s second Icon-class ship and described by the company as the world’s largest cruise ship, is scheduled to call at Crown Bay in St. Thomas on Sept. 9.
