Playa Blanca cruise calls receive conditional port authorization
Puertos Canarios says shipping companies retain the final docking decision, while state authorities handle entry authorization and border controls for arrivals from non-Schengen ports.

Puertos Canarios said it has favorably processed the port authorizations needed for cruise calls at Playa Blanca. The approvals remain conditional on compliance with the applicable technical, operational and safety requirements.
The port authority said authorization does not automatically confirm a call. The final docking decision rests with the shipping company, based on its scheduling and agreements with operators, tourism agents and destination authorities responsible for serving passengers during their visit.
Puertos Canarios said its responsibilities cover port space and the conditions for its use. It does not organize land-based passenger services, including reception, transportation, excursions or visitor assistance. Those functions may involve municipalities, island councils, tourism promotion companies and private operators.
For the scheduled cruise call arriving from Morocco, Puertos Canarios said entry authorization and border controls fall to the General State Administration through the Government Delegation in the Canary Islands and other competent state bodies and services. Canary Ports also said it had not issued instructions intended to prevent Playa Blanca from receiving cruise ships or to transfer that activity to another port.
