Passport mix-up prevents guest from boarding Valiant Lady
Virgin Voyages reportedly provided a New York hotel stay and future voyage credit after the traveler could not be cleared to sail.

A traveler was unable to board Virgin Voyages’ Valiant Lady at Brooklyn Cruise Terminal after arriving with her fiancé’s passport instead of her own, according to published accounts of the incident. She was part of a group of six preparing to sail from New York to Bermuda.
Although the traveler had a valid ticket and was included in a confirmed booking, the mismatch involving an individual biometric document meant she could not be cleared for the voyage. Travel reports said severe weather had delayed the ship’s arrival in New York, moving the boarding process into Sunday evening.
Accounts of the case indicated that Virgin Voyages arranged overnight accommodation in New York for the affected guest. Descriptions posted in online travel communities also said shoreside and onboard teams assisted her with temporary lodging and with beginning the process of securing replacement documentation and onward travel.
The cruise line also reportedly provided future voyage credit, allowing the traveler to book another sailing rather than forfeit the full cost of the missed trip.
