Passengers report Rye & Bean secret shot challenge discontinued
Royal Caribbean has not publicly announced a menu change, but several guests said baristas on Icon Class ships were no longer offering the full 15-shot tasting.

Multiple Royal Caribbean passengers have reported being told that Rye & Bean’s unofficial secret shot challenge has been discontinued, although the cruise line has not publicly announced a change to the venue’s menu.
The challenge consisted of 15 shots served in a set sequence at Rye & Bean on Icon Class ships. It began with the Mini Beer and concluded with the Toasted Almond. Drink-package holders were not charged extra because the alcoholic shots were included, while other guests paid for each drink separately.
Passenger Janet Hepler-Good said baristas aboard Star of the Seas told her the shots were no longer permitted. According to her account, staff said Royal Caribbean’s Head of Bars had ordered the immediate discontinuation because the drinks were not on the menu.
Another passenger, identified as Sherry, said she tried several times to order the shots shortly before disembarking Star of the Seas. She reported initially being told that shot glasses were unavailable, then later being informed that Rye & Bean no longer offered the challenge.
Tyler Grider separately reported that Rye & Bean aboard Icon of the Seas could make only the Mini Beer and Booster Shot during the presidents cruise. He said the limited availability was disappointing.
