Passenger sues Virgin Voyages and spa company over alleged onboard assault
The complaint seeks more than $75,000 in damages following an alleged incident aboard Brilliant Lady during a 2026 Alaska cruise.

A cruise passenger has filed a lawsuit against Virgin Voyages and One World Spa, alleging she was sexually assaulted by a crew member during a 12-night sailing aboard Brilliant Lady. The cruise traveled from Seattle to Alaska from June 11 through June 23, 2026.
The plaintiff, a Hidden Valley, California, woman identified by the pseudonym Jane Doe (E.M.), filed the case on September 10, 2026. The 17-page complaint from Morgan & Morgan seeks damages exceeding $75,000, not including interest, costs or attorneys’ fees.
According to the complaint, a crew member brought the passenger to a secluded grooming area for a shoulder massage, locked the door and assaulted her while presenting the contact as therapeutic bodywork. The lawsuit alleges the cruise line and spa company did not adequately supervise crew members or establish sufficient passenger protections.
The alleged assailant has also been charged in federal court with two counts of abusive sexual contact involving passengers aboard Brilliant Lady, according to the reported court case.
