Passenger Dies After Balcony Fall on Norwegian Getaway
Miami-Dade homicide detectives are examining the incident, which occurred during the final night of a short Bahamas cruise.

A passenger aboard Norwegian Getaway died after falling from a balcony onto a lower deck on the evening of August 23, Norwegian Cruise Line said.
According to the cruise line, crew members responded immediately and attempted life-sustaining measures, but the passenger did not survive. The company expressed sympathy for the passenger’s family but had not disclosed what led to the fall.
The incident occurred on the last night of a three-night voyage from Miami to The Bahamas. A passenger said an emergency announcement was made over the ship’s public-address system between 11 p.m. and midnight Sunday.
Detectives with the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office Homicide Bureau are investigating the incident as an unclassified death investigation. No information about the man’s identity had been released.
