Passenger alleges disability discrimination on Royal Caribbean cruise
Colorado resident Josh Blue said security personnel misunderstood behavior associated with his cerebral palsy during a vacation with his girlfriend.

Josh Blue, a Colorado man, has alleged that he experienced disability discrimination while vacationing with his girlfriend aboard a Royal Caribbean cruise.
According to Blue, security personnel woke him at about 1 a.m. on the voyage’s second night after a group of teenagers allegedly told their parents and ship security that he had tried to abduct them. Blue claimed the teenagers had reacted to the way he walked by running away and yelling that he was pursuing them.
Blue also alleged that security revoked his alcohol privileges because personnel believed he was intoxicated. He and his girlfriend told security that he has cerebral palsy, he said. Blue shared his account to raise awareness about what he described as the treatment people with disabilities encounter in daily life.
