Palma to limit peak-season cruise calls from June 2027
The three-ship daily cap will apply through at least September 2029, alongside a lower passenger limit.

Palma de Mallorca will limit cruise arrivals to three ships per day during its peak summer season beginning in June 2027. The measure is part of an agreement reached by the Balearic Government, Palma Town Hall and the Cruise Lines International Association.
The agreement will set the daily cruise passenger limit at 7,500. The participating parties estimate the change will reduce passenger numbers by approximately 30,000 per month. The plan also restricts larger vessels: only one of the three cruise ships permitted on a given day may carry more than 5,000 passengers.
The limits are scheduled to remain in effect through at least September 2029. Palma’s planned restrictions follow a separate measure elsewhere in the Balearic Islands. In 2024, Ibiza limited cruise ship visits to two per day.
