Palma appoints temporary Bus Nàutic operator and opens long-term tender
Cruise-focused routes are scheduled to begin November 1, with standard single fares planned at €10.

The Balearic Islands Port Authority has appointed Palma Cruises as the temporary operator of Palma’s Bus Nàutic maritime transport service while opening a public tender for its longer-term operation.
The Mallorca-based company’s initial contract will run for one year. It may be renewed annually for as long as three years, or until a permanent operator takes over.
Lines 2 and 3, intended mainly for cruise passengers, are scheduled to start November 1. Line 1, the regular internal route, is due to begin January 15, 2027. The network is planned to connect maritime stations at Dique del Oeste and Poniente pier with La Lonja. Plans also include a maritime connection between the Port of Palma and Portitxol.
Standard fares are planned at €10 for a single journey and €18 for a return. Residents are due to receive discounted options, including a €50 Bono 100 covering as many as 100 trips over one year and a €20 Bono 20 valid for six months.
The authority’s board has approved tender documents for a contract lasting up to 15 years. Under the tender requirements, vessels must use low-NOx technology to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions.
