Odyssey of the Seas diverts during search for missing passenger
The Royal Caribbean ship changed course between Mykonos and Naples after its captain declared an Oscar emergency.

Royal Caribbean’s Odyssey of the Seas diverted while sailing from Mykonos toward Naples after the captain declared an Oscar emergency.
A passenger aboard the ship said the captain informed guests at about 10 a.m. that a woman had gone overboard during the early morning. According to that passenger, Odyssey of the Seas turned around and circled the area for several hours while carrying out search-and-rescue operations with assistance from the Greek Coast Guard.
The same passenger alleged that the missing woman had taken an inflatable ring before going overboard. The guest also said people aboard the vessel were praying for the woman’s family and loved ones.
Another guest reported that the search had continued for six hours. That passenger expressed hope that the woman would be found and concern that the ship could miss its planned Naples visit. The missing passenger had not been found at the time of the report.
