Oasis of the Seas swaps Bahamas calls for overnight Halifax visit
Royal Caribbean revised the seven-night itinerary as a developing Atlantic storm threatened the U.S. East Coast.

Royal Caribbean replaced all three scheduled port calls on Oasis of the Seas’ October 18 Bahamas cruise with an overnight visit to Halifax, Nova Scotia. The sailing from Cape Liberty in Bayonne, New Jersey, had been due to call at Port Canaveral, Perfect Day at CocoCay and Nassau.
Under the revised itinerary, the ship was scheduled to reach Halifax at 6 p.m. on October 20 and leave at 8 a.m. the following day. The cruise remained set to depart New Jersey on October 18 and return on October 25.
The cruise line offered refundable onboard credit based on accommodation and occupancy. The first two guests would each receive $200 in interior and ocean-view rooms, $300 in balcony and neighbourhood balcony cabins, or $600 in suites. Third and additional guests would receive $100 each.
Royal Caribbean also offered each paying passenger a 50% future cruise credit, expected by November 1, 2026. Replacement cruises must be booked by October 18, 2027. Company-booked excursions for the removed ports were to be refunded as onboard credit, with unused balances returned to the card on file.
Royal Caribbean also redirected Vision of the Seas from Bermuda to Saint John, New Brunswick, because of dangerous offshore weather.
