Oasis of the Seas return delayed after passenger medical emergency
Royal Caribbean adjusted arrival and embarkation timing at Cape Liberty and offered eligible travelers reimbursement for certain change fees.

Oasis of the Seas returned to Cape Liberty at 9:30 a.m. on October 11, 2026, three and a half hours later than its scheduled 6 a.m. arrival. Royal Caribbean told guests that a passenger on the seven-night cruise, which departed October 4, required urgent medical care and was taken off the ship for further treatment.
The cruise line’s notice did not disclose the passenger’s condition or where the emergency debarkation occurred. Royal Caribbean said eligible guests could seek reimbursement for flight and transportation change fees, capped at $200 per person for domestic travel and $400 per person for international travel. Flights booked through the company’s Flights by Royal program were to be adjusted automatically when necessary.
The delay also affected the ship’s next seven-night departure on October 11. Guests were advised that the planned 3 p.m. departure would be delayed, while the earliest terminal arrival time shifted from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The itinerary’s arrival at Port Canaveral moved from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., but the scheduled 8:30 p.m. departure from the Florida port remained unchanged.
