Oasis of the Seas Encounters North Atlantic Storm
The Royal Caribbean ship continued toward the United States as forecasts warned of strong winds, heavy rain and coastal flooding.

Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas encountered rough North Atlantic conditions during a seven-night round-trip cruise from Cape Liberty in New Jersey to the Bahamas. The ship had departed on September 20.
According to the report, Oasis of the Seas continued through the rainstorm rather than delaying its return to the United States. A passenger recorded footage of the waves from aboard the ship, and the video was later shared by the Loyal to Royal Instagram account.
The National Weather Service had forecast a rapidly intensifying East Coast storm, with gusty winds, heavy rain and coastal flooding expected along the Interstate 95 corridor from the Mid-Atlantic region through New England over the weekend. The report also attributed to NOAA an assessment that severe North Atlantic swells were generating waves higher than 25 feet.
