Oasis of the Seas delayed after medical evacuations
The ship was expected to reach Cape Liberty eight hours late after reversing course to Nassau for urgent medical care.

Oasis of the Seas was expected to return to Cape Liberty, New Jersey, eight hours behind schedule on the twentieth of September 2026 after emergency medical evacuations required the vessel to reverse course to Nassau.
According to communications from the captain, the ship’s medical team determined that two guests needed urgent attention that could not be adequately provided onboard. The first emergency reportedly involved a critically ill seven-year-old child. A second guest was reported critically ill while the vessel was returning to Nassau.
The captain said in a public address announcement that the ship resumed its northbound journey shortly before 1 p.m. on Friday, the eighteenth of September. The revised arrival at Cape Liberty was approximately 2 p.m., rather than the original time of approximately 6 a.m., with debarkation expected around 2:30 p.m.
Royal Caribbean said each stateroom would receive a voucher for 60 minutes of complimentary internet access through its mobile application. The company also said documented flight change fees would be covered up to $200 per person for domestic travel and $400 per person for international travel, subject to review and processing.
Embarking passengers were notified that assigned check-in windows would shift seven to eight hours later. They were required to complete check-in and be onboard by 9:30 p.m. on Sunday evening.
