Oasis of the Seas delayed after medical emergency in Nassau
Two guests, including a 7-year-old child, were taken ashore for hospital care, pushing back the ship’s return to New Jersey.

Oasis of the Seas faced a significant delay after a medical emergency involving two passengers while the Royal Caribbean ship was docked in Nassau, Bahamas, on Friday afternoon.
According to a reported announcement from the captain, both passengers, including the child, were critically ill and were evacuated to hospitals on the island shortly after 1 p.m. A letter distributed aboard the ship said its medical team determined that the two guests required urgent attention and that they were debarked to receive additional care.
The extended stay in Nassau delayed the vessel’s return to Cape Liberty in Bayonne, New Jersey. The revised schedule called for Oasis of the Seas to arrive at about 2 p.m. Sunday, approximately eight hours later than initially planned.
Royal Caribbean said in the letter that its flights team would automatically adjust affected bookings. The cruise line also said it would reimburse airline change fees of up to $200 for domestic travel and $400 for international travel. Royal Caribbean did not respond to a request for additional comment.
