Norwegian Sun to Extend Copenhagen Stay for Maintenance
The revised September 2026 sailing will remain in Copenhagen for two additional nights and omit its planned Oslo visit.
Norwegian Cruise Line informed passengers booked on Norwegian Sun’s ten-day sailing of 23rd September 2026 that the ship would undergo unplanned maintenance during two additional overnight stays in Copenhagen.
Embarkation remained scheduled for Wednesday, 23rd September. Passengers were still required to follow their pre-selected arrival windows despite the later departure. The extended Copenhagen stay resulted in the cancellation of the Oslo call planned for Thursday, 24th September, which had been scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Norwegian Sun was expected to depart Copenhagen at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, 25th September and sail toward Warnemünde, Germany, for Berlin. At the time of the notice, the rest of the itinerary was set to continue without further changes.
The cruise line said the maintenance did not affect the safety of the ship, passengers or crew, although it had not disclosed which onboard systems needed attention. Norwegian offered a $100 non-refundable onboard credit per qualifying stateroom, divided as $50 each between the first two registered passengers.
