Norwegian Spirit completes Sydney-to-Auckland voyage
Strong winds prevented the ship from entering Lyttelton during a 12-night New Zealand cruise.

A traveler aboard Norwegian Spirit sailed from Sydney toward Auckland on a 12-night itinerary featuring scenic cruising and destinations across New Zealand.
The voyage visited Milford Sound and later passed Doubtful Sound and Dusky Sound. Strong winds disrupted the schedule by preventing Norwegian Spirit from entering Lyttelton, the port for Christchurch.
The traveler also explored several North Island destinations, including Wellington, Napier and Tauranga, before leaving the ship in Auckland. According to the account, Norwegian Spirit was built in 1998, carries just under two thousand passengers and underwent a major refurbishment in 2020.
Norwegian Cruise Line is offering another Sydney-to-Auckland voyage departing Feb. 16, 2027. The 11-day itinerary description names Melbourne, Milford Sound and Eden.
The advertised fare includes the company’s Free At Sea package. Listed benefits comprise drinks, meals at four specialty restaurants, 150 minutes of Wi-Fi for one device at a time and a shore-excursion discount.
