Norwegian Sky ends NCL service ahead of Cordelia transfer
The 27-year-old ship is becoming Cordelia Sky as Norwegian Cruise Line expands its newer Prima Plus fleet.

Norwegian Sky completed its final voyage for Norwegian Cruise Line on September 9, 2026, ending 27 years of service during which it carried approximately 2.5 million passengers. The vessel is transferring to India-based Cordelia Cruises and will be renamed Cordelia Sky.
Vessel-tracking information showed that the ship concluded its NCL career with a nine-day Mediterranean sailing from Barcelona to Piraeus before preparations for the handover. Industry reporting described the departure as Norwegian Cruise Line’s first removal of a ship from its active fleet in 17 years. Norwegian Sun is also scheduled to leave the fleet in late 2027.
The change comes as Norwegian introduces larger ships. Fincantieri built Norwegian Luna in Italy and delivered it earlier in 2026. Its attractions include the Aqua Slidecoaster, combining roller coaster and waterslide elements, and Glow Court, a sports venue with an LED floor.
Norwegian Cruise Line says Norwegian Aura is expected to debut in May 2027 at approximately 170,000 gross tons. Both Luna and Aura have a stated capacity of 3,840 guests at double occupancy.
