Norwegian Sky Ends 27-Year NCL Career Ahead of Cordelia Transition
The 1999-built ship is expected to join Cordelia Cruises under a long-term charter and begin sailing from Mumbai in October 2026.

Norwegian Sky was completing its final Norwegian Cruise Line voyage on September 9, 2026, ending 27 years with the company. The farewell sailing was a nine-day Mediterranean itinerary from Barcelona to Piraeus.
A subsequent cruise through the Red Sea toward the Middle East had been planned but was canceled because of the geopolitical situation. During the final voyage, access to shops, the art gallery and spa facilities was already restricted as preparations for the transition progressed. Restaurants, bars and lounges continued operating normally.
After the last passengers disembarked, the vessel was expected to be transferred to Cordelia Cruises under a long-term charter and renamed Cordelia Sky. Plans to conduct conversion work at Dubai Drydocks World had reportedly been disrupted by the regional security situation, requiring the work to take place elsewhere.
Built in Bremerhaven and placed in service in 1999, Norwegian Sky was described as the oldest vessel in NCL’s fleet. Cordelia Sky was scheduled to begin cruises from Mumbai on October 23, 2026.
