Norwegian Prima continues sailing during Legionnaires’ disease investigation
Norwegian Cruise Line says the source of exposure remains unconfirmed as testing continues.

Norwegian Cruise Line said three recent guests were diagnosed with Legionnaires’ disease after traveling aboard one of its ships. The voyages associated with the reported cases took place in May and July 2026.
The cruise line said investigators have not determined whether the guests were exposed aboard the vessel or elsewhere. Norwegian is working with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to investigate the cases and reduce the risk of further incidents. The company said appropriate guests and crew members were notified in accordance with CDC guidance.
According to Norwegian, tests of the ship’s water fixtures have so far returned negative results, although additional testing remains underway. The company said hot tubs and heated whirlpools would remain closed as a precaution while the investigation continues.
The Norwegian Prima has continued operating on its regular sailing schedule during the investigation.
