Norwegian plans September opening for Great Tides Waterpark
The six-acre attraction on Great Stirrup Cay will require a separately purchased day pass for eligible Caribbean cruise guests.
Norwegian Cruise Line plans to open Great Tides Waterpark on Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas in September. Guests sailing aboard select Caribbean ships will be eligible to purchase day passes for the six-acre park.
According to a company press release, Great Tides will feature racing slides, raft slides and a lazy river with an in-water Floataway Bar. The park has 19 waterslides, including an attraction described as the Caribbean’s only four-person body slide. Splash Cay will provide a splash zone for children, while Vibe Shore Club will offer adults-only areas with high-end loungers and a private bar.
Water park admission is not included automatically with a Norwegian cruise reservation. Passengers may buy a pass through the cruise line’s website after their cruise booking is confirmed. The reported price is about $100 per person.
Norwegian offers visits to Great Stirrup Cay and Great Tides Waterpark on itineraries departing from several ports, including Miami, Port Canaveral, Tampa and Jacksonville in Florida.
