Norwegian opens Great Tides Waterpark at Great Stirrup Cay
The private-island attraction in the Bahamas adds 19 waterslides, cliff jumps, a children’s splash area and an immersive river experience.

Norwegian Cruise Line has opened Great Tides Waterpark at Great Stirrup Cay, marking what the company describes as one of the largest upgrades in the Bahamian island destination’s history.
Designed for a range of ages, the park includes 19 waterslides, a dedicated children’s splash zone and the Wandering River. NCL also says the attraction features the cruise industry’s first cliff jumps, alongside areas focused on family activities and relaxation.
The cruise line marked the opening with a VIP event attended by media, travel advisors and government officials, including the prime minister of the Bahamas. Actor Josh Peck and NHL player Taylor Hall also attended.
Great Stirrup Cay is included on itineraries departing from New York, Philadelphia, Miami, Port Canaveral, Tampa and Jacksonville. Advertised options included a four-day Norwegian Getaway sailing from Miami, priced from $299 per person, with calls at Nassau and Great Stirrup Cay.
NCL also advertised a seven-day Norwegian Luna itinerary from Miami from $699 per person, visiting Puerto Plata, St. Thomas, Tortola and Great Stirrup Cay. A seven-day Norwegian Epic cruise from Port Canaveral was listed from $599 per person, with stops at Great Stirrup Cay, Jamaica and Cozumel.
