Norwegian Getaway passenger raises access concerns during Great Stirrup Cay preview
Norwegian Cruise Line hosted invited guests and more than 100 content creators before Great Tides Waterpark opened to the public.

A passenger who said they had recently returned from a four-night Norwegian Getaway cruise alleged that parts of the ship and Great Stirrup Cay were set aside for influencers during the sailing.
In a September 8, 2026 post on a Norwegian Cruise Line discussion thread on Reddit, the guest specifically cited the island’s water park among areas allegedly unavailable to other passengers. The passenger said the restrictions made the experience feel less inclusive.
Norwegian Cruise Line held an invitation-only preview at Great Stirrup Cay on September 2, two days before Great Tides Waterpark opened to the public. According to a company press release, government officials, travel partners, media representatives, special guests and more than 100 content creators attended the event.
Those invitees received advance access to the nearly six-acre water park. Norwegian Cruise Line had not publicly confirmed whether any other locations aboard the ship or on the island were reserved for influencers, or whether paying passengers lost access to those areas.
