Norwegian Encore ends record cruise season at Port of Vancouver
Canada Place recorded 1.4 million passenger visits and 358 cruise ship calls between February and October 2026.

Norwegian Encore arrived at the Canada Place terminal on Monday as the final cruise ship of the season, closing the Port of Vancouver’s busiest cruise season on record.
Between February and October 2026, Canada Place recorded 1.4 million passenger visits and 358 cruise ship calls. Both figures were 20 per cent higher. The Port Authority said its 2027 numbers looked robust and pointed to continued growth in the sector.
A recent cruise passenger survey by the Pacific Rim Cruise Association estimated that cruise ship traffic generates about a billion dollars in economic benefits for the region. The survey found that passengers stayed an average of between 1.4 and 2.6 nights before or after their cruise and spent an average of $1,144 each on hotels, restaurants, shopping, tours and sightseeing.
The Canada Place Shore Power Expansion Project is scheduled to add two connection stations, increasing the terminal’s total from three to five and boosting shore-power capacity by 35 per cent. The project is due for completion in 2027.
