Norwegian Cruise Line Plans Year-Round Galveston Program
Norwegian Prima is scheduled to operate seven-night Western Caribbean cruises from Texas during summer 2028.
Norwegian Cruise Line plans to establish its first year-round cruise program in Galveston, with Norwegian Prima scheduled to sail from the Texas port between April and October 2028. The ship is set to operate seven-night, roundtrip Western Caribbean itineraries.
According to the company, Norwegian Prima’s planned calls include Harvest Caye in Belize, Cozumel and Costa Maya in Mexico, and Roatán in Honduras.
The year-round schedule is expected to begin in November 2027, when Norwegian Escape arrives in Galveston. That ship is scheduled to offer seven- to nine-night Western Caribbean cruises through April 2028. Before then, Norwegian Viva is due to operate Western Caribbean voyages from Galveston during the 2026-27 winter season.
Norwegian said its broader 2028 deployment comprises more than 450 sailings aboard 20 ships from 20 homeports. Norwegian Aura and Norwegian Aqua are planned to offer three- to seven-night cruises from PortMiami, while Norwegian Escape is slated to spend the summer sailing from Port Canaveral. The deployment also includes Norwegian Gem’s planned Philadelphia debut and seasons in Alaska and Europe.
