Norwegian Cruise Line outlines current daily service charges
The cruise line applies different per-person rates based on accommodation type and permits payment before departure.
Norwegian Cruise Line uses the term service charges for gratuities or tips. Its current daily rate is $20.00 per person for guests in interior, oceanview and balcony cabins, along with Club Balcony Suites. Passengers staying in other suites or The Haven are assessed $25.00 per person, per day.
The company last raised these charges effective January 2023. They apply only to passengers who are at least three years old.
Norwegian allows travelers to prepay service charges until 24 hours before sailing. If a passenger does not pay in advance, the charges are added to the onboard account during the voyage. At the end of the cruise, the resulting amount is billed to the payment card kept on file.
According to information on Norwegian's website, passengers may adjust the service charges when their concerns have not been resolved satisfactorily.
