Norwegian Cruise Line opens Great Tides Waterpark at Great Stirrup Cay
The nearly six-acre attraction adds 19 waterslides and water experiences to the cruise line’s private-island destination in The Bahamas.

Norwegian Cruise Line has opened Great Tides Waterpark at Great Stirrup Cay, its private-island destination in The Bahamas. The attraction spans nearly six acres and features 19 waterslides and water experiences.
Key areas include Tidal Tower, which has eight waterslides, and Cliffside Cove, where guests can use 10- and 15-foot cliff jumps. Norwegian says the jumps are a cruise industry first. The Great Slide accommodates four riders at once, while Splash Cay offers eight smaller slides, an oversized tipping bucket and a 9,000-square-foot children’s splash zone.
The park’s Wandering River reworks the traditional lazy-river format with a faster current, an immersive tunnel and a nearby float-up bar. Norwegian describes the Great Slide as the Caribbean’s only family slide designed for four riders at the same time.
Admission is available exclusively to Norwegian Cruise Line passengers on Caribbean and Bahamas itineraries that visit Great Stirrup Cay. Booked passengers can reserve waterpark access before their visit.
Other recent additions at the destination include Great Life Lagoon, a heated pool with two swim-up bars; Splash Harbor, a complimentary interactive water-play area for children; and Vibe Shore Club, an adults-only retreat with private beachfront access.
