Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings cancels 2027–2028 Middle East season
The company is redirecting capacity to the Western Mediterranean and South Caribbean amid regional instability and softer demand.
Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings canceled its entire 2027–2028 Middle East cruise season in a deployment change announced on Aug. 22, 2026. The company is shifting capacity previously allocated to Middle East itineraries toward routes in the Western Mediterranean and South Caribbean.
The report linked the decision to geopolitical tensions and lower-than-expected booking volumes for Middle East routes in 2027 and 2028. According to the report, guests booked on affected voyages are being offered the choice of rebooking on alternative sailings or receiving full refunds.
The cancellation follows the company’s latest quarterly performance update. An earnings-focused overview reported that Norwegian Cruise Line generated second-quarter 2026 revenue of $2,640.54 million and net income of $222.55 million. The overview said both results were higher than those recorded in the prior-year quarter.
