Norwegian Cancels Norwegian Sky Farewell Cruise
The 19-night September 2026 sailing was set to transit the Suez Canal and Red Sea en route to Oman.

Norwegian Cruise Line has cancelled Norwegian Sky’s farewell cruise, which had been scheduled to depart from Greece on September 9, 2026. In a statement sent to booked guests, the company attributed the decision to security concerns in the Middle East.
The 19-night voyage was due to pass through the Suez Canal and Red Sea before arriving in Muscat, Oman.
Norwegian said affected guests will receive a full cash refund of their cruise fare to the original payment method. The company also plans to issue a Future Cruise Credit worth 50% of the current voyage fare, in addition to a previously provided 15% credit connected to itinerary changes. The new credit can be applied to any published Norwegian Cruise Line sailing through December 31, 2027, according to the company.
Airfare purchased through Norwegian will be cancelled automatically and refunded, the cruise line said. For independently arranged travel, Norwegian is offering up to $300 per person toward airline change or cancellation fees that are not reimbursed by the carrier or a travel insurance provider.
