Norwegian Alters Hawaii Itineraries as Tropical Storm Lala Approaches
Norwegian Spirit and Pride of America adjusted their schedules because of weather risks and possible port restrictions.
Norwegian Cruise Line canceled Hawaiian port calls and changed itineraries for Norwegian Spirit and Pride of America because of weather risks associated with Tropical Storm Lala.
Norwegian Spirit, which departed Vancouver on July 31, was scheduled to bypass Hilo and Kona and reach Honolulu earlier than originally planned. Guests were given the option to remain aboard for two additional days at sea, and the cruise line planned to provide onboard credit for the two missed ports.
According to a Norwegian Spirit guest whose account was cited by Doug Parker, roughly 200 passengers chose to disembark early.
Pride of America also shortened its visit to Nawiliwili and headed toward Honolulu earlier than expected. The ship had begun a seven-night sailing on August 8.
Norwegian Cruise Line informed guests that Pride of America would leave Nawiliwili on August 13, 2026, and proceed to Honolulu. The company said anticipated weather conditions could lead to restrictions at the Port of Honolulu, making an earlier arrival necessary. Norwegian planned for the ship to remain in Honolulu until 5 p.m. local time on August 14, 2026.
