Nor’easter delays Carnival Sunshine and shortens Bahamas cruise
The ship’s return to Norfolk was pushed back by one day after weather prompted course and speed changes.

A nor’easter along the U.S. East Coast delayed Carnival Sunshine’s return to Norfolk by a full day, prompting Carnival Cruise Line to shorten the ship’s following Bahamas voyage.
Carnival Sunshine had been due back in Norfolk on Sunday, September 27, after an eight-night Canada itinerary. Weather conditions led the ship to reduce speed and alter its course in search of calmer waters. Carnival said the vessel would instead return on Monday, September 28.
The next sailing, originally planned as a six-night Bahamas itinerary, was changed to a five-day cruise departing Norfolk one day later than scheduled. The initial itinerary included calls at Celebration Key, Bimini and Nassau.
Other ships sailing from several U.S. East Coast ports also modified routes, speeds or schedules to avoid the most severe offshore conditions.
