Nine-Night Crystal Serenity Sailing Changes First-Time Cruiser’s View
An author said a Northern Europe voyage aboard Crystal Serenity prompted her to reconsider her long-held belief that cruising was not for her.

The author’s first cruise was a nine-night Crystal Serenity itinerary from Southampton, England, to Copenhagen, Denmark. The Northern Europe sailing included calls at Bruges, Rotterdam, Hamburg and Oslo.
Sailing with luxury cruise line Crystal, she stayed in a Sapphire Veranda Suite with her husband. According to her account, the accommodation included a walk-in closet and daily pressing, cleaning and laundry services.
Onboard options included restaurants, live entertainment, a spa, casino, art classes and lectures by experts, including university professors. While the ship was docked in Rotterdam, the couple canceled a planned Amsterdam excursion that would have occupied much of the day and instead remained aboard.
After the voyage, the author said the experience had changed her previous view that cruises were not suited to her and left her considering another sailing.
