Navigator of the Seas to leave year-round Los Angeles role for Singapore
Royal Caribbean plans to shift its California deployment toward seasonal rotations after the ship begins Asian cruises in October 2026.
Royal Caribbean’s Navigator of the Seas will debut in Singapore in October 2026, ending its role as a year-round ship based in Los Angeles. The cruise line returned the vessel to Los Angeles in November 2021 after an absence of more than a decade, offering three-, four- and five-night trips to Catalina Island and Mexico.
From Singapore, Navigator will operate three- to five-night cruises to destinations including Penang and Langkawi in Malaysia and Phuket in Thailand, according to Royal Caribbean. Longer voyages will visit Thailand and Vietnam, while subsequent itineraries will extend to Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Following the move, Royal Caribbean plans to rely more heavily on seasonal ship rotations in California rather than maintaining Navigator in Los Angeles throughout the year. Ovation of the Seas remains scheduled for Los Angeles sailings but is also deployed in Australia, allowing it to rotate between markets.
Serenade of the Seas is scheduled to add another option from San Diego. Quantum of the Seas and Ovation may also continue appearing in California seasonally. There is currently no indication that Navigator will receive a direct year-round replacement in the state.
