MSC World Atlantic launched ahead of 2027 delivery
The LNG-powered ship will undergo interior outfitting and technical commissioning at Chantiers de l’Atlantique before entering MSC Cruises’ fleet.

Chantiers de l’Atlantique has launched MSC World Atlantic, the fourth LNG-powered cruise ship the French shipbuilder has constructed for MSC Cruises. The vessel will remain at the yard for interior fitting-out and final technical commissioning ahead of its scheduled delivery in 2027.
Construction began on March 27, 2025. Upon delivery, MSC World Atlantic is expected to become the 25th ship in the MSC Cruises fleet.
The vessel is reported to measure 333.3 meters long, 47 meters wide and about 68 meters high, with gross tonnage of 215,863 GT. It will have 2,626 passenger cabins, capacity for as many as 6,762 guests and accommodations for 2,138 crew members. Its nominal maximum speed is approximately 22.7 knots.
MSC World Atlantic will use a dual-fuel propulsion system powered primarily by liquefied natural gas. Five engines will provide combined output of about 80 megawatts.
Plans call for the ship to operate Caribbean sailings from Port Canaveral, Florida, during the 2027–2028 winter season. MSC Cruises said scheduled destinations will include Ocean Reef, its private marine reserve in the Bahamas, and Grand Turk.
