MSC World Asia to begin Mediterranean cruises in December 2026
The new flagship’s deployment follows changes that will send MSC World Europa to the Caribbean instead of the Middle East.

MSC Cruises plans to launch MSC World Asia on seven-night Mediterranean voyages from Barcelona on December 4, 2026. The company’s Geneva press office said the ship’s winter 2026-27 itinerary will visit Marseille, Genoa, Civitavecchia, Messina and Valletta, alongside Barcelona. For summer 2027, Naples will replace Civitavecchia in the rotation.
MSC World Asia will include an 81.3-metre dry slide and a suspended steel dragon sculpture among its World Promenade features.
The deployment comes as MSC revises plans for MSC World Europa. According to a cruise trade report, its scheduled Middle East season from November 2026 through April 2027 will be replaced by seven- and 14-night Caribbean cruises. The ship will take over MSC Seaview’s Caribbean programme, while MSC Seaview moves to Brazil and Argentina for the winter.
The same report said affected MSC World Europa customers may select another sailing or receive a full refund. Guests booked on MSC Seaview’s winter Caribbean cruises will be moved automatically to MSC World Europa without itinerary changes.
MSC said MSC World Europa is due to return to the Middle East in winter 2027-28, visiting Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sir Bani Yas, Bahrain and Doha. Separately, a trade publication reported that Explora Journeys cancelled Explora II’s winter 2026-27 Middle East programme, while Celestyal cancelled April Mediterranean departures amid difficulties repositioning ships from the Arabian Gulf.
