MSC World Asia Receives Dragon Sculpture During Construction
The third ship in MSC Cruises’ World Class series is scheduled to begin Mediterranean sailings in December 2026.
MSC Cruises has completed the installation of a large dragon sculpture aboard MSC World Asia as construction continues at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France.
The stainless-steel artwork measures 39 feet long and 11.4 feet wide. Suspended 32 feet above the ship’s Outdoor World Promenade, the sculpture was designed by Balich Wonder Studio and incorporates nearly 700 mirrors. Its lighting system includes 1,312 feet of integrated strips and more than 3,000 LED light points.
MSC World Asia is the third vessel in the cruise line’s World Class series. The ship is scheduled to enter service on December 4, 2026, operating seven-night Mediterranean cruises. Its planned itinerary includes calls at Barcelona, Marseille, Genoa, Civitavecchia for Rome, Messina and Valletta.
